Welterweight Championship Round 2 – Maximus Grier vs Finnegan Wakefield

(The camera cuts to Bella Braxton in the ring.)

Bella Braxton: The following contest is a Welterweight Championship tournament match scheduled for one fall!!!

Crowd: ONE FALL!

(“Long Live the Chief” by Jidenna blasts off on the speakers as the lights fade to black. As soon as the hook ends Maximus Grier appears on stage glaring out at the crowd showing his swag. Maximus struts down to the ring before opening his umbrella to reveal the Tres Comas Club logo spread across, along with text underneath saying “presented by Maximus Inc”. he then removes his fur coat as PETA activists throw trash at him from the audience. He places the coat and umbrella outside the ring as he awaits his opponent.)

Bella Braxton: Introducing first from Sacramento, California weighing in at 190 pounds… he is “JIGSAW” MAXIMUS GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRIER!!!

James Peters: These fans certainly seem to have mixed opinions on Maximus Grier here tonight. What is not a mixed opinion however is his undefeated record here in REVOLT! so far!

Rich Russillo: I heard he eats dogs James. Whether or not that may be true and it definitely is, I am also aware that he is three and zip here in REVOLT! so far a feat only a few others here can claim including Stone Murdock, TLA, The Revenant, and Ms. Extreme! Let’s see if he can make it 4 and move to an even more exclusive club here tonight!

(“Morning Glory” by Oasis hits as Finnegan Wakefield steps out onto the stage. The crowd pops as Finn pops his collar and drops a dollar and if you hear him you can holla as he makes his way down to the ring.)

Bella Braxton: And his opponent… from Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, England weighing in at 13 stone he is “THE WRESTLING ARTIST” FINNEGAN WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKEFIELD!!!

James Peters: Speaking of win loss records you can’t honestly say that this man is much worse off than his opponent tonight. While Wakefield may only have two wins to Grier’s three, he has also only had two matches in the company.

Rich Russillo: Absolutely a fair point James and with the ease that Wakefield managed to dispatch his opponents some might be willing to ignore records entirely and call him the favorite to win this match. Place yo odds now motherfuckers shit is about to get real, raw, and rowdy on Rebellion!
(The referee calls for the bell… DING! DING! DING!)

James Peters: We off right quick here as Grier is tryna pull up on Wakefield but Wakefield ain’t havin’ none of it! Wakefield slips and slithers away from Grier as smooth as water as Grier looks frustrated as he can’t get ahold on Wakefield to grab him some.

Rich Russillo: Grier looks like he really wants to grab him some as Wakefield finally consents to a grapple. These two Welterweight talents are really going at it fighting for position as it looks like Wakefield may have the advantage here! Grier strugglin’ as he backs his ass on up to the ropes and forces a break out of the grapple he wanted so badly in the first place.

James Peters: It’s really bad form for Grier to back out of the grapple after Wakefield was kind enough to consent to it in the first place. You can see the disappointment on the face of Wakefield as he begs for Grier to come and give him some more.

Rich Russillo: It appears that this time Grier is the one consenting as he charges in with a flurry of fists to the face of Wakefield who isn’t fast enough to dodge them! Wakefield pummelled back against the ropes as the referee forces Grier off Wakefield to recover from the onslaught.

James Peters: Grier now talking shit to Wakefield’s face trying to take him off his game but Wakefield looks too woke for any of Grier’s bullshit. Wakefield bounces off the ropes charging in with a dropkick kicking Grier back into the ropes! Grier now scrambling as Wakefield lands on his feet and charges in with a series of kicks!

Rich Russillo: Wakefield kicking Grier hard until Grier falls down in the corner. Wakefield stomps at Grier who slides out under the bottom rope attempting to make his escape. But Wakefield follows Grier to the outside and delivers a hard right hand to the face!

James Peters: Wakefield with another right hand as he kicks Grier up against the barricade before throwing him back into the ring. Wakefield slides back into the ring only to be hit with a big knee to the gut from Grier! Grier goes for a clothesline on Wakefield who ducks and connects with a hard chop to the chest of Grier!

Rich Russillo: Wakefield whips Grier across the ropes but Grier reverses the Irish Whip! Grier catches Wakefield on the return and flips him over his head… Belly to Belly Suplex connects! The cover by Grier!

1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

James Peters: The kick out by Wakefield! Grier drags Wakefield back up to his feet but swiftly drops him back down with a Snap Suplex! Grier pounces down on Wakefield as he locks him in a Front Sleeper hold but Wakefield uses his extensive wrestling knowledge to quickly break out of it.

Rich Russillo: Grier out of nowhere drives a boot into the face of Wakefield before picking him back up and ramming him headfirst into the turnbuckle padding! Grier now taunting the crowd as Wakefield holds his face in pain on the mat.

James Peters: Grier pulls Wakefield back up by the face as he suddenly drops him hard with a DDT. The cover!!!

1!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rich Russillo: Grier pissed at Wakefield’s kickout as he angrily drives his elbow into Wakefield’s face! Grier punishing Wakefield here with repeated shots to the face! Grier might just win this thing by knockout!

James Peters: It looks like Wakefield is bleeding a little from the mouth as he rolls to the outside but Grier stops him and pulls him back into the ring. Grier lifts up Wakefield up above his head… Powerbomb connects!!! Wakefield looks like he is completely out of it here!!! The cover by Grier!!!

1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rich Russillo: I can’t believe it James! Wakefield somehow kicked out! He isn’t moving much but he is hanging on and Grier is not pleased about it! Grier now biding his time as he waits for Wakefield to slowly recover… Wakefield back on his feet…

James Peters: GRIER CHARGES IN… NO! VAE VICTIS OUTTA NOWHERE! FINN CONNECTS WITH VAE VICTIS!!!

Rich Russillo: But Wakefield can’t make the cover! Grier looks to be completely out but so is Wakefield! Wait… Wakefield is moving slowly over to the cover… Can he get there in time?!?!?!?

James Peters: WAIT GRIER OUT OF NOWHERE! WAKEFIELD WENT FOR THE PIN BUT GRIER GRABBED THE ARM OF WAKEFIELD! HE HAS IT LOCKED IN! tHE BLACK SWAN LOCK HAS BEEN LOCKED IN! CAN WAKEFIELD BREAK THE HOLD?!?!?

Rich Russillo: WAKEFIELD SCREAMING IN PAIN! THE CROWD IS WILLING HIM ON NOT TO TAP! HE IS INCHES AWAY FROM THE ROPES! HOLD ON KID!

James Peters: NO! GRIER PULLED WAKEFIELD FURTHER BACK INTO THE RING AND APPLIED THE HOLD EVEN TIGHTER! THERE IS NO ESCAPE! THE CROWD IS CHANTING! FINN! FINN! FINN!!

Rich Russillo: FINNEGAN WAKEFIELD TAPS OUT! IT’S OVER!

(DING! DING! DING!)

Bella Braxton: Here is your winner and moving on to the next round of the Welterweight Championship tournament… MAXIMUS GRRRRRRRRRRRRRIER!

(“Long Live the Chief” by Jidenna hits as Maximus Grier has his arm raised by the referee in victory.)

James Peters: What a contest! I could have seen this one going either way to be honest Rich but ultimately we have a definitive winner here tonight in Maximus Grier who continues to run through the competition in REVOLT! and in this tournament!

Rich Russillo: Definitely no shame for Finnegan Wakefield taking the loss in this one. He showed he had a lot of heart and talent in this match and I imagine no matter who becomes the Welterweight Champion, Wakefield will be chasing on not far behind!

(Grier is shown celebrating as the camera fades to black)
